John Brickson

Biography

John Brickson, Founder & Principal of McKinney Realty Capital, has 10 years of experience in real estate financing and advisory totaling more than $1BN across all commercial property types.

Prior to founding McKinney Realty Capital, John was a Director at Old Capital where he sourced over $575MM in transaction volume from a variety of capital sources including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, banks, credit unions, mortgage REITs and other private funding sources.

John previously served as a Vice President at A10 Capital, a privately held bridge lender with backing from KKR and Black Rock. At A10, John originated bridge loans on industrial, office and retail properties. Before joining A10, John was an Associate with LStar Capital, the credit affiliate of private equity investor Lone Star Funds, where he supported the origination of high leverage fixed rate loans on a variety of property types across the US.

John began his career as an Analyst in the Commercial Real Estate Group at BMO Harris Bank in Chicago.

In addition to advising on commercial real estate financing, John is actively invested in multifamily and industrial properties both as a passive limited partner and as a key principal. Originally from Kansas City, John graduated from DePauw University in 2011 with a BA in Economics.
